Make Yourself At Home
Make Yourself At Home
Welcome to my webpage. This site is intended to share with you information about the profession of social work and my own progress in working as a social work teacher/scholar at Lincoln Memorial University (LMU) in Harrogate, TN.
I hope you enjoy my work.
LMU Social Work Featured: The Department of Social Work (DSW) has a new webpage. There you will find an article about the Veterinary Social Work services we have provided for Remote Area Medical. CampusLINC.
Grant Funded: Thanks to the generosity of the Appalachian College Association and Salzburg Global Seminar, I will be attending an international education seminar called "Public and Private Cultural Exchange" from 4/28/12 - 5/2/12 at Schloss Leopoldskron in Salzburg, Austria. I will also receive funds to sponsor a diversity initiative at LMU. Click here for the LMU Press Release.
Publications: Please take some time to read the professional news magazine Social Work Today. For the September/October edition, I wrote the article Spiritually Sensitive Hospice Care.

Materials from my workshop on Teaching Spiritual Care: Resources and Results for the North American Association of Christians in Social Work’s 61st Convention are available as part of NACSW’s conference proceedings. A course template is included.
Poster Presentation: Thanks also to those who stopped by at my last poster presentation A Relational Model for Spiritually-Sensitive Hospice Care at the 9th International Conference on Grief and Bereavement and Association of Death Education and Counseling's 33rd Annual Conference. Click here for the poster narrative.
I am always interested in researching, presenting, and writing on the topic of spiritual care. Please let me know if you identify a particular area related to spiritual care that warrants more attention. I would love to talk with you about how we might forge a productive partnership to address this area of need.
Thank you!
My Inspiration
If I can stop one heart from breaking, I shall not live in vain: If I can ease one life the aching, or cool one pain, or help one fainting robin unto his nest again, I shall not live in vain.
